This Basic Butter Cream Icing recipe yields smooth and creamy icing that is suitable to coat any type of Cakes , be it a butter cake, fruit cake or sponge cake.

The flavor can be varied for chocolate, coffee, mocha, orange or just any other flavour you wish. Use the icing as soon as it is prepared, before it hardens, and use a damp palette knife to spread it, so as to get a smooth finish.

1/2 cup soft butter

  1. Sieve the icing sugar with help of a strainer in a deep bowl and keep aside.
  2. Put the butter in a deep bowl and beat it with a help of a spatula till smooth and creamy.
  3. Add the sieved icing sugar and mix very well with help of a spatula till smooth.
  4. Use as required.

Really easy and quick recipe of butter.. i was searching for this recipe since long.. to decorate my cake.. i added some food colour to this and used.. to decorate the cake..
