Ingredients
Main Ingredients
2 cups sliced banana
1 1/4 cups besan (Bengal gram flour)
1 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1/4 tsp asafoetida (hing)
salt to taste
Method
- Combine the besan, chilli powder, turmeric powder, asafoetida, salt and approx. ½ cup of water in a deep bowl; and mix well.
- Heat the oil in a deep non-stick kadhai, dip a few bananas slices in the prepared batter and drop it in hot oil. Deep-fry on a medium flame, till they turn golden brown in colour from all the sides. Drain on an absorbent paper.
- Serve immediately.

To make banana bhajiya, kela bhajia, in a deep bowl, add 1 1/4 cups besan (Bengal gram flour).

Add 1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi).

Add about 1/2 a cup of water. You may require 1-2 tbsp more depending upon the quality of the Besan.

Mix well using a whisk and keep aside. Make sure that there are no lumps.

Heat the oil in a deep non-stick kadhai.

Dip a few bananas slices in the prepared batter and drop it in hot oil. Deep-fry on a medium flame, till they turn golden brown in colour from all the sides.

Drain on an absorbent paper.

do we use raw banana or ripe banana in this ?
