Tomato sauce has become a constant kitchen companion in most modern households. It comes in handy as an accompaniment for snacks, a dip for finger foods, a flavouring for gravies, and a topping for pizzas and pastas. Here is a quick and easy way to prepare tasty and pulpy tomato sauce within 10 minutes using the microwave oven!
Method- Cut the tomatoes into big pieces. Put them into a shallow dish and microwave on high for 4 to 5 minutes. Blend in a liquidiser and strain.
- Put the butter in a glass bowl and melt it by microwaving on high for about 15 seconds.
- Add the onion and garlic and simmer (cook level 5) for about 1 1/2 minutes.
- Add the tomato puree, chilli powder, tomato ketchup, cornflour mixture, sugar and salt. Microwave on high for 3 minutes, stirring in-between after every 1 minute.
