Vegan Calcium Rich Recipes
Calcium is very important to maintain your bones healthy. Vegan diet is usually low in calcium because calcium rich sources are milk and other dairy products.
Vegan sources of calcium are very few, for example:
a. All green leafy vegetables especially spinach, cauliflower greens, colocassia leaves etc. and broccoli
b. Nuts like almonds, walnuts and peanuts
c. Amongst the cereals and pulses – whole ragi (nachni), ragi flour, rajma, chick peas, matki etc. Sprouted pulses are enhanced source of calcium.
d. Fortified juices
f. Dried figs, apricots, chia seeds, sesame seeds, garden cress seeds (subza) etc.
