What can be used instead of safforn? Or can we make it without saffron?

I tried Cakes n Moongdalhalwa . It became very nice . In hallwa Still I smelt a little bit raw smell n ghee not left the side for a long time. Give me some suggestion.

Tarla Dalal    Hi Shalini, Make sure your flame is just as mentioned in the recipe. If you feel raw smell is yet there which actually should not happen do cook it a little more.
