For Black Bean Soup
- 1/2 cup black beans , soaked for 5 hours and drained
- 2 tsp oil
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 tsp chopped garlic (lehsun)
- 1 cup roughly chopped tomato
- salt to taste
For The Garnish
- 2 tbsp hung curds (chakka dahi)

Along with a rich smoky flavor that has been compared to mushrooms, black beans have a velvety texture, yet hold their shape well during cooking.

Put the black beans in a bowl as we want to soak them.

Add enough water to soak the black beans.

Cover and soak for 5 hours or overnight.

Heat 2 tsp oil in a pressure cooker.

Add 1/4 cup finely chopped onions.

Add 2 tsp chopped garlic (lehsun).

Sauté on a medium flame for 2 minutes.

Add 1 cup roughly chopped tomatoes.

Add 1½ cups of water.

Add salt to taste. We added 3/4 tsp salt.

Mix well.

Pressure cook for 5 whistles. Pressure cook it for 4 to 5 whistles or till cooked. At times the whistles and the cooking depend on the size of the cooker.

Allow the steam to escape before opening the lid. Let it cool.

Heat 2 tsp oil in a pressure cooker.

Transfer the mixture into a deep pan.

A super creamy, black bean soup. The ingredients used is so simple, but yet so tasty. Serve this soup piping hot. A must try soup.
