Method

  1. Sieve the flour. Keep aside.
  2. Beat the eggs and sugar in a deep bowl very well until thick and double in quantity using an electric beater.
  3. Add the vanilla essence and mix lightly.
  4. Fold in the well-sieved flour carefully and mix gently with a spatula.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased and dusted 175 mm. (7”) diameter tin.
  6. Bake in a hot oven at 200°c (400°f) for 20 to 25 minutes.
  7. The cake is ready when it leaves the sides of the tin and is springy to touch.
  8. Take out from the oven and leave for 1 minute. Loosen the sides with a knife, invert the tin over a rack and tap sharply to remove.
  9. 9. Keep aside to cool and use as required.

i dont know why but it didnt become spongy..i beat d eggs really well..do u think adding a bit of baking soda will help? how abt trying it in d cooker? any idea anyone?

hope while beating the eggs you used an electric beater and did that till really thick....make sure you also bake the cake in a pre heated oven, do give it one more try and let us know how it turned out.... for a pressure cooker cake, you can follow this recipe .. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CISCkYNAzhA
