Ingredients
For Tariwale Aloo Mutter
2 tbsp oil
1 tbsp ghee
1 1/2 cups big potato cubes
1 cup green peas
1 black cardamom (badi elaichi)
1 small cinnamon (dalchini) stick
2 dry pandi chillies
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1 tbsp ginger (adrak)
1 tsp finely chopped green chillies
1 cup tomato pulp
1 tbsp dried fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi)
salt to taste
2 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)
To Be Mixed Using 1/4 Cup Water
1 tbsp besan (Bengal gram flour)
3/4 tbsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
Method
- To make tariwale aloo mutter, heat oil and ghee in a pressure cooker, add black cardamom, cinnamon stick, pandi chillies and cumin seeds and sauté for few seconds.
- Add onions and sauté on medium flame for 2 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
- Add the ginger garlic paste and green chillies and sauté for few seconds.
- Add the prepared masala paste and mix well.
- Add tomato pulp and cook on medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
- Add potato cubes, green peas, kasuri methi, salt and ¾ cup hot water, mix well.
- Cover with a lid and pressure cook for 2 whistles, allow the steam to escape and then open the lid.
- Garnish with coriander and serve tariwale aloo mutter hot.
