Ingredients
For Stuffed Paneer Pakora
16 thin sliced paneer (cottage cheese)
chaat masala for sprinkling
4 tsp green chutney
oil for deep-frying
To Be Mixed Into A Batter (using 1/2 Cup Of Water)
1 cup besan (Bengal gram flour)
2 tbsp rice flour (chawal ka atta)
1 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1/4 tsp asafoetida (hing)
1 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)
2 pinches of baking soda
salt to taste
2 tbsp hot oil
Method
For stuffed paneer pakora
- To make stuffed paneer pakora, place the cheese slice one by one on a flat, dry surface and cut it into 4 equal pieces. You will get 8 cheese slice pieces in all. Keep aside.
- Place 1 paneer slice on a flat, dry surface and sprinkle little chaat masala evenly over it.
- Spread ½ tsp green chutney over it.
- Place a cheese slice piece over it and sandwich it using 1 more paneer slice.
- Repeat steps 2 to 4 to make 7 more stuffed paneer pieces.
- Heat the oil in a deep non-stick kadhai, dip the stuffed paneer pieces into the besan batter one by one and deep fry on a medium flame till they turn golden brown in colour from all the sides. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Serve the stuffed paneer pakora immediately.
