Ingredients
For Stuffed Onion Pakoda
4 small onion
To Be Mixed Into A Potato Stuffing
1 1/2 cups boiled and boiled and mashed potatoes
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
2 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)
2 tsp ginger-garlic (adrak-lehsun) paste
1/2 tsp green chilli paste
1/4 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp chaat masala
1/2 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
salt to taste
To Be Mixed Into A Batter (using 3/4 Cup Of Water)
1 cup besan (Bengal gram flour)
2 tbsp rice flour (chawal ka atta)
1 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1/4 tsp asafoetida (hing)
1 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)
2 pinches baking soda
salt to taste
2 tbsp hot oil
Method
For stuffed onion pakoda
To make stuffed onion pakoda, peel and cut the onions into halves and separate each layer of onion halve. Keep aside.
Divide the potato stuffing into 16 equal portions.
Stuff a portion in one onion halve, cover it with another onion halve and press slightly to seal the stuffing.
Heat the oil in a deep non-stcik pan, dip the potato stuffed onions into the besan batter one by one and deep fry in hot oil on a slow flame till they turn golden brown and crisp.
Serve the stuffed onion pakoda immediately.
