Ingredients
For Masala Puri
1 cup whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1/4 tsp asafoetida (hing)
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1 tbsp oil
salt to taste
oil for deep-frying
For Serving With Masala Puri
fresh curd (dahi)
Method
For masala puri
- To make masala puri, combine all the ingredients in a bowl and knead into a firm dough using enough water. Keep aside for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Divide the dough into 24 equal portions and roll out each portion into a 75 mm. (3") diameter circle.
- Heat the oil in a kadhai and deep-fry the masala puris one at a time on a high flame till they are golden brown in colour from both the sides.
- Serve the masala puris hot with fresh curds.
