Method

For whole wheat vegetable cheela
 

  1. To whole wheat vegetable cheela, combine the flour, salt and 1¼ cups of water in a deep bowl and mix well using a whisk.
  2. Add all the remaining ingredients, and mix well using a spatula.
  3. Heat a non-stick tava (griddle), sprinkle a little water on it and wipe it off gently using a muslin cloth.
  4. Grease it with ¼ tsp of oil and pour a ladleful of the batter on it and spread it in a circular motion to make a 150 mm. (6”) diameter thin circle.
  5. Smear ½ tsp of oil over it and along the edges and cook on a medium flame till the cheela turns light brown in colour from both the sides.
  6. Repeat steps 3 to 5 to make 9 more cheelas.
  7. Serve the whole wheat vegetable cheela immediately with chutney and sambhar.
