Method

For the stuffing
 

  1. Heat the butter in a broad non- stick pan, add the garlic and onions and sauté on a medium flame for 1 minute.
  2. Add the coloured capsicum and sauté on a medium flame for 1 minute.
  3. Add the zucchini and corn and sauté on a medium flame for 2 minutes.
  4. Add the tomato ketchup, hot and sweet chilli sauce, oregano , chilli flakes and salt and sauté on a medium flame for 1 minute, while stirring occasionally. Keep aside.


For the white sauce
 

  1. Heat the butter in a broad non-stick pan, add the plain flour and cook on a slow flame for 1 minute, while stirring continuously.
  2. Add the milk, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 3 to 4 minutes, or till the sauce thickens, while stirring continuously.
  3. Add the salt and pepper, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 more minute. Keep aside.


For the tomato sauce
 

  1. Heat the olive oil in a broad non-stick pan, add the garlic and sauté on a medium flame for a few seconds.
  2. Add the onions and sauté on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes.
  3. Add the tomato pulp, oregano, chilli flakes, tomato ketchup, chilli powder and salt, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 5 to 6 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
  4. Add the sugar, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 minute, while stirring occasionally. Keep aside.


How to proceed
 

  1. To make bread lasagna, divide the stuffing into 3 equal portions. Keep aside.
  2. Take 16 bread slices, trim the edges using a sharp knife, roll it thinly using a rolling pin. Keep aside.
  3. Take a baking square dish.
  4. Pour ¼ cup of prepared tomato sauce evenly over it.
  5. Pour ½ cup of prepared white sauce evenly over it.
  6. Arrange 4 slices overlapping each other.
  7. Pour ¼ cup prepared tomato sauce and spread it evenly.
  8. Pour one portion of the vegetable and spread it evenly.
  9. Pour ¼ cup of prepared white sauce evenly over it and spread it.
  10. Sprinkle ¼ cup of cheese evenly over it.
  11. Put ½ tbsp. Basil leaves evenly over it.
  12. Now repeat steps 4 to 11 to make 2 more layers.
  13. Finally add the remaining prepared tomato sauce and spread it evenly.
  14. Sprinkle the remaining cheese, oregano and chilli flakes evenly over it.
  15. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 180°c (360°f) for 20 minutes.
  16. Serve the bread lasagna hot.
