Method

For arhar ki dal with spinach
 

  1. To make arhar ki dal with spinach recipe, combine toor dal, tomato, turmeric powder and 2 cups of water in a pressure cooker.
  2. Pressure cook it on a medium flame for 3 whistles. Allow the steam to escape and then open the lid.
  3. Whisk the dal well and keep aside.
  4. Heat oil in a deep non-stick pan, add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, hing, curry leaves and onions.
  5. Sauté on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes. Add garlic and ginger-green chilli paste and mix well.
  6. Add the spinach and cook on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
  7. Add the cooked dal, salt to taste along with 1 cup water. Mix well and cook on a medium flame for 4 to 5 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
  8. Serve arhar ki dal with spinach hot garnished with coriander.
