White and Yellow Marbles

A playful recipe made with rice and jaggery and served as a snack or a starter. Serve warm with a dollop of butter.
For the white marbles- Boil ½ cup of water in a heavy bottomed vessel along with salt .
- Then add the rice flour and 1 tbsp of oil. stir evenly to mix well.
- Remove it from the the heat and set aside to cool for a while.
- If necessary, sprinkle some water and knead into a soft dough. then, form marble sized balls of the mixture.
- Steam these marbles in the cooker for 10 mts.
- Heat up the remaining oil in a pan and fry the mustard seeds, urad dal, chilly, curry leaves and asafoetida and sauté on a low flame for a few seconds.
- Add the cooked balls and grated coconut and stir fry over a low flame for a couple of minutes. keep aside.
For the yellow marbles- Melt the jaggery in 2 tbsp water in a pan and add the rice flour. stir evenly to mix well.
- Remove it from the the heat and set aside to cool for a while.

- Steam these marbles in the cooker for 10 mts.

- 1. combine both the white and yellow cooked marble in a plate and serve with a dollop of butter.
