Ingredients

1 cup toovar (arhar) dal
1 big onion
1 potato
2 medium tomatoes
3 tbsp ghee
5 black peppercorns (kalimirch)
5 cloves (laung / lavang)
1 " piece of cinnamon (dalchini)
salt to taste
chilli powder as per taste
fresh coriander (dhania) leaves for garnishing
Method


  1. Soak toor dal in water for sometime and then pressure cook till done.
  2. Cut onion potato and tomatoes vertically in stripes.
  3. Heat ghee in a vessel. add black pepper,cloves and dalchini then add onion and potato. fry till potato is cooked. then and tomatoes and fry again. add red chillie powder and fry again .finally add cooked dal. put water as per the consistancy like any dal. add salt as per taste. garnish with corriender.
