A tasty vegetables preparation that taste's good when eaten with hot rice. A sputh Indian preparation made with a combination of capsicum and coconut of course!

Tasty Capsicum Poriyal recipe - How to make Tasty Capsicum Poriyal

Preparation Time:    Cooking Time:    Total Time:     4Makes 4 servings

200 gms diced capsicum
1 tsp mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)
1 tsp curry leaves (kadi patta)
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
1 clove garlic (lehsun)
2 tbsp grated fresh coconut
5 whole dry kashmiri red chilles
20 gms roasted chana dal (daria)
1 tbsp oil
salt to taste
  1. Combine the cumin seeds, garlic, coconut, roasted gram and red chillies in a mixer to a smooth powder. Keep aside.
  2. Heat the oil in a kadai and add mustard seeds.
  3. When the seeds crackle, add the curry leaves and capsicum and cook on a medium flame till the capsicum becomes soft.
  4. Add the grounded powder, salt and mix well.
  5. Serve hot.
