Sweet & sour eggs impart a sweet, sour and fiery flavour to the eggs, which is most definitely going to tingle your taste buds. An Oriental cuisine inspired sweet and sour eggs is typically enjoyed as a starter or side dish with pan-fried flat noodles.

Ingredients

4 eggs, boiled
1/2 cup chicken stock or water
1 tbsp cornflour
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup vinegar
1 tbsp finely chopped ginger (adrak) and garlic (lehsun)
pineapple cubes
1 tbsp pineapple juice
1 carrot, chopped
1 tbsp groundnut oil
Method


  1. Heat oil in a pan, fry chopped ginger and garlic along with sugar, vinegar.
  2. Also add pineapple juice with chicken stock or water and boil.
  3. To this, add carrot pieces, pineapple pieces and cook for few minutes.
  4. To corn flour, add water and make a batter.
  5. Pour this mixture to the above mixture.
  6. Cook until the gravy thickens.
  7. Cut the boiled eggs into four pieces each and add to the gravy.
  8. Serve with rice.
