To Be Ground To A Powder
2 tbsp fried sesame seeds (til)
2 tbsp fried groundnuts
2 tbsp grated dry coconut (kopra)
1/2 tsp cinnamon (dalchini)
2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp citric acid (nimbu ka phool)
2 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp garam masala
1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1 tbsp roasted fennel seeds (saunf)
salt to taste

For The Dough
1 bowl plain flour (maida)
4 tbsp oil
pinch citric acid (nimbu ka phool)
pinch baking soda
salt to taste

Other Ingredients
2 tbsp raisins (kismis)
1 tbsp khajur amli ki chutney
plain flour (maida) for rolling
oil for deep frying

For Serving
green chutney
khajur amli ki chutney

For the dough

    For the dough
  1. Combine all the ingredients in a deep bowl and knead into a thick dough using water.
  2. Divide the dough into equal portions and roll into small balls and keep aside.

  1. Combine the ground powder, raisins and khajur imli chutney in a deep bowl and mix well.
  2. Divide the mixure into equal portions and roll into small balls. Keep aside.
  3. Roll the each portion of the dough to a puri using plain flour for rolling, place a portion of the prepared mixture in each puri and cover from all the sides and roll to form a ball.
  4. Deep fry these balls in hot oil on medium flame till it turns to pink in colour.
  5. Serve with green chutney and khajur amli ni chutney.


  1. These kachoris can be stored for a week.
