The simplicity of this dish makes you wonder in amazement at the power of kalonji! What a spice, really! No fuss, no delay. All it takes is a few minutes to toss the French beans and onion seeds in butter, and voila, you have a treat that you just cannot have enough of.
It is however important to serve the Stir-Fried French Beans with Kalonji immediately on preparation when the seeds are still bursting with flavour and the beans retain their juicy crunchiness..
Serves as a good side dish with any main course, be it Indian , American Chinese or Italian .
- Heat the butter in a broad non-stick pan, add the nigella seeds and sauté on a medium flame for few seconds.
- Add the french beans and salt and sauté on a medium flame for 3 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
- Serve immediately.
