Seven jewel pulao is a special pulao recipe with seven dried fruits namely cashew, pista, walnuts, almonds, peanuts and raisins added to rice. The aromatic seven jewel pulao preparation is mildly spiced and served hot with rose petal and tamal patra(silver oil0 as garnishing. A mouthwatering pulao rice recipe for special guests and festivals.

Seven Jewels Pulao recipe - How to make Seven Jewels Pulao



Preparation Time: 20-25 MIN   Cooking Time: 15 MIN   Total Time:     6


2 cups rice (chawal)
100 gms mixed dry fruits
1/2 tsp saffron (kesar) strands
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup cream
2 tbsp powdered cashewnuts (kaju)
2 tsp sugar
salt to taste
4 tbsp ghee, rose petals
4 cups water
3 pcs cinnamon (dalchini)
3 bayleaves (tejpatta)
3 cloves (laung / lavang)

  1. Add salt,water & sugar to rice & cook rice for pulao.
  2. Soak saffron in milk.
  3. Heat ghee,add ingredients for seasoning & saute all dryfruits on slow flame.
  4. Mix togethercream & cashewnut powder & add it to dryfruits.
  5. Add saffron milk.
  6. Add cooked rice & salt & stir.
  7. Remove pulao in an oblong plate,apply silver foils.
  8. Decorate with rose petals.
  9. Serve with garlic-coconut curry.
