Rajasthani Mithai, Rajasthani Sweets

Rajasthanis don’t hold back on the use of full-fat milk and ghee in their mithai. No wonder the Manpasand Mithai of Rajasthan tastes so heavenly!

All the festivals and special occasions  in the whole of Rajasthan are incomplete without Ghevar, the king of sweets. A honeycomb shaped delicacy made using plain flour and ghee is relished with rabri.

Rajasthani Mithai from Udaipur

Doodhiya-KheechDoodhiya Kheech

Doodhiya Kheech is a popular dish from Udaipur. This rich, sweet dish provides with plenty of energy. Made using milk and wheat , it will keep you hooked to it till the last bite.

Winters are harsh in Rajasthan. To keep the body warm, Rajasthanis savour upon different sweets like Gaund ke ladoo , Moong dal halwa , Badam ka halwa which are rich and can be easily stored. Atte ka Malpua is another traditional favourite in Rajasthani households to keep away from the chill weather.

Mawa-KachoriMawa Kachori

Jodhpur is famous for its Mawa Kachori. Rich dry fruit and mawa (khoya) stuffed crisp deep- fried kachoris are coated in sugar syrup.

Churma-LadooChurma Ladoo

Dal-baati is a typical Rajasthani treat and incomplete without the quintessential "Churma". It is made using coarsely ground wheat flour, besan or maize flour. The most common of all is the wheat flour churma that can be is shaped into Churma ladoo and can be stored too. The texture of ladoo is enhanced by adding sesame seeds and dryfruits
