Cooking is an art and just like an artist, you would also need certain tools to execute and create a masterpiece. Indian food is highly diverse and for cooking them you would require an array of equipment's. The basic tools you would require are a sharp knife, cutting board, pans, cooking utensils, saucepans, rolling pin and board, food processor, spice box, griddle, pressure cooker

Talking about griddles, commonly known as tava, it is a wide surfaced pan with very shallow (and sometimes no) sides, which is heated for griddling or grilling. They come both curved and flat bottoms. They are generally made out of iron or are covered with a non-stick coating. The coating prevents food from sticking and makes cleaning easier. It is really an advantage when reheating sticky foods, such as rice. It also reduces the amount of fat that is normally required while cooking. It is used to cook rotis, parathas, naans, dosas, pancakes and other flat breads. It is also used to prepare a range of starters and snacks. It has a handle that helps you to hold the pan and handle the food easily, sometimes flipping it in a smart way to cook evenly! Some delicacies that were traditionally cooked in a tandoor like the naan can also be cooked in a tava, reproducing the same great taste in a convenient manner.

Street Food Tava Recipes:

Dosa is a thin crepe made using rice and lentil batter.  Masala dosa is made using a stuffing from mashed potatoes and spices.

Chat Pati Frankies:

I guess frankie would be a creation by a mother whose kid threw tantrums for not eating a particular subzi. Turn your boring chapati into a delicious roll by using all your favorite veggies and yummy paneer too. With the addition of peppy chaat masala, cheese it turns into a heavenly combination.

Sada Uttapa :

Dosa are the safest option you can opt for when it comes to street food. With an addition of vegetables, Uttapa are thick rice pancakes, heavy on tummy and soft in texture.
