70 Indian Wrap Recipes, Veg Wrap Recipes

Wraps are one of the easiest things to make for a quick snack or lunch/dinner. The western countries use maize flour based tortillas to make different types of wraps and rolls, but in India you can use leftover rotis to do the same or make Flour Tortillas! Rotis are home to tasty fillings in this category of snacks! You can wrap rotis and tortillas around innumerable combinations of tasty and satisfying ingredients, limited only by your imagination. It’s not necessary for the wraps to have a western taste and feel, they may very well have an Indian taste.

Indian Wraps and Rolls

Frankies are just another name for wraps and rolls. These wraps make wonderful snacks to have on-the-go, and can also be cut up and served attractively as starters.  You can make use of leftover rotis, stuff it with a mix of vegetables and you will have for yourself a Vegetable Frankie, exactly like the street vendors make it. Apart from veggies, you might have noticed the street stores add many other ingredients to their wraps and rolls.

Pahadi Paneer Tikka WrapPahadi Paneer Tikka Wrap

The classic combination of potato and cheese will make the delectable Aloo Cheese Frankie while the soft, mint coated paneer can be used in a Pahadi Paneer Tikka Wrap! You can give your wrap an Indian touch by filling it with leftover subzi as well. Masala Bhindi Wrap is one such example of subzis being used as a wrap filling. Serve this wrap with a curd dip and you are good to go!

Healthy Indian Wraps

There are many types of healthy wraps one can make that are not only packed with nutrition but are super easy and delicious tasting. Not only can you mix up the fillings but you can also add different vegetable purees, like spinach and beet, to the roti for a colorful and nutrient rich roti. A few amazing wraps are mentioned below:

Cauliflower and green peas stuffed beetroot wrap is a wrap made with a pink roti! The dough is made with flour and beet puree while stuffing is a mix of healthy cauliflower and green peas.

Mixed sprouts wrap: This interesting wrap can be jazzed up with chilli powder or ginger garlic paste and still have the goodness and benefits of the sprouts.

Jowar Veggie WrapJowar Veggie Wrap

Jowar Veggie Wrap : The rotis, made of jowar and whole wheat flour, are tinged with the peppy flavour of carom seeds, which help in digestion. The roti is then spread with a green chutney and filled with mildly spiced veggies so as to avoid acidity.

International wraps and rolls

You can even work a bit of international magic by adding baked beans and Salsa or lacing the wrap with Chinese sauces. The most famous wrap in the world is burrito, which is a Mexican wrap stuffed beans, rice and salsa. Either this or you can lose yourself in the joy of biting into a sumptuous Whole Wheat Salad Hummus Wrap, with a creamy chickpea hummus that complements the vegetables.

BurritosBurritos

A fusion mix of chickpeas, lemongrass, coconut milk makes such a wonderful combination in a Thai Satay Wrap. When these right flavors come together, they will make you a star in front of friends and family! If you have leftover hakka noodles, you can stuff it in the roti to make a Vegetable and Noodle Wrap.
