Quick Roti Chivda recipe - How to make Quick Roti Chivda


Preparation Time:    Cooking Time:    Total Time:     Makes 2 servings

4 leftover chapattis
1/2 cup finely chopped onions
2 small green chillies , finely chopped
1/4 cup curds (dahi) , beaten
1 tsp sesame seeds (til)
1/2 tsp mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)
1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
3/4 tsp chilli powder
1 1/2 tsp coriander (dhania) powder
salt to taste
3/4 tsp sugar
3 tbsp oil
1/4 cup water
  1. Break the chapatis into small pieces with hand. Keep aside.
  2. Heat the oil in a non-stick pan and add sesame seeds and cumin seeds.
  3. When the seeds crackle, add the turmeric powder, onion, green chilies and salt, mix well and saute till the onions start slightly leaving water and become slightly brown.
  4. Add the curds, red chili powder, coriander seeds powder and sugar, mix well and saute for about 30 seconds.
  5. Add some water and chapatti pieces and mix well.
  6. Cook on a medium flame for 2-3mins or till the water is evaporated.
  7. Serve hot.
