Quick Green Gram Halwa recipe - How to make Quick Green Gram Halwa

1/2 cup rice (chawal)
1/2 cup parboiled sprouted moong (whole green gram)
1 tbsp ghee
3 cups jaggery (gur) , grated
5 cashews

For The Garnish
1 tbsp finely chopped cashews
  1. Coarsely grind rice and green gram separately using a spice blender and mix both powder together.Keep aside.
  2. Heat the ghee in a pan, add the cashews and fry until golden brown.
  3. Remove the cashews onto a bowl.Keep aside.
  4. Add the prepared powder in the same pan and saute
  5. on a medium flame for a minute and remove from heat.Keep aside.
  6. Boil a cup of water and add the grated jaggery.
  7. Cook the jaggery mixture for a minute or until the syrup thickens a little.
  8. Stir in the prepared powder and cook covered on a slow flame until halwa comes together.
  9. Grease a small box with ghee and pour the above prepared halwa.
  10. Garnish with fried cashews and serve hot or cold.
