A quick and easy recipe , onion rings are typically enjoyed as garnish for biryanis or simply as a snack. These deep fried crispy fried onion rings are sure to add flavour and crunchiness to any dish.

4 onions
1 cup plain flour (maida)
1 cup milk
1 egg
1/4 tsp salt
oil for deep-frying

  1. Peel onions, slice thinly, and separate into rings.
  2. In a bowl pour the milk and add the rings in it.
  3. Keep aside for at least one hour.
  4. Drain. do not throw the milk.
  5. Beat the egg well, add the milk, salt and sifted flour.
  6. Dip each onion ring into batter, drop into deep hot oil, and fry till golden brown on medium flame.
  7. Serve hot with ketchup or any other sauce of your choice.
