Well, I would really like to learn some nice recipes from here and also share a few of my own.. Happy cooking to one and all...

I was in Chennai for more than 10 years and I am a fan of South Indian food. Here are some of the restaurants which I like and used to visit often.

1) Sare Chuattar on Sarat Bose Road Kolkata, an authentic Bengali restaurant known for Bengali delicacies like ilish, prawn etc.

2) Lazeez in Elgin road Kolkata famous for Biriyani and Chap.

3)Kumarokum which serves authentic Kerala food are in many places in Chennai. Few places where one can find Kumarokum are adyar, velachery etc.

4)Murugan Idli and Sarvana Bhavan for authentic South Indian veg food.

5)Anjapaar authentic south Indian restaurant known for it's chettinad non veg curries.

6)Sigree in Nungambakkam is quite famous for north Indian food.

7)I like Thai food so on OMR road there is a hotel called Asiana wherein we have a restaurant called ''SILK'' which serves great Thai food.

8)Copper Chimney is nice to try out.

9)Sparky in Egmore is great (if you love american food)

10)Raintree at Mountroad

11)The Rock at Velachery

12)Kim Ling at Anna Nagar (Chineese)

13) El Dorado in Badhomburg Germany which serves awesome Mexican food.

14)Chipotle near loop central drive Houston serving Mexican.

15)Food court in MBS Singapore where one can find almost all different types of South Asian cuisines.

14)Dorade in Frankfurt for its awesome Lamb dishes.

Apart from that there are lots of biriyani centers (Thalapakatu, Dindigal Thalapakatti etc) which serves good biriyani and in T.Nagar area of Chennai lots of cool veg and non veg restaurants are there. One nice Gujrati restaurant in T.Nagar area is Mansook.

Also there are many Punjabi Dhabas, Sachin Da Dhabas scattered throughout Chennai.

Indian - Butter Chicken with Steam rice, Aloo Gobi masala, Dal Makhni, Bhindi Jaipuri, Masala Dosa, South Indian Thali, Appam and the list goes on

Thai - Momos (Steamed/Fried Dumplings), Chicken Rice, Laksa Noodles

Mexican - Chicken Burrito and Burrito Bowl

Indian will be on top of the list followed by Thai and then will be Mexican.
