you can add chopped capsicum, carrot, etc. after frying the onion.

  1. Crumble the idlis with fingers and keep aside.
  2. Heat the oil in a kadhai and add the mustard seeds and allow to splutter.
  3. Add the urad dal and chana dal. saute until pink.
  4. Add the asafoetida.
  5. Add the chili and ginger. saute for a minute.
  6. Add the onion and fry until pink.
  7. Add the turmeric powder.
  8. Add the crumbled idli.
  9. Add the salt and sugar and toss well for a couple of minutes.
  10. Garnish with coriander leaves.
