Hodge-podge Pudding

A delicious medley of leftover crumbs or cakes with walnuts, rum , custard powder and milk in the hodge podge pudding makes it a lovely dessert recipe. Chill the pudding and enjoy it with chocolate shavings or chopped nuts as topping.

3 cups leftover cake crumbs or Brownies or marie biscuit or any other sweet biscuits
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (akhrot) or any other nuts
1 tbsp rum (optional)
3 tbsp custard powder
3 tbsp cocoa powder
2 cups milk
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup grated chocolate

  1. Crumble the cake/biscuit crumbs in a bowl and add one tblsp rum and mix
  2. Mix the custard powder, cocoa powder, sugar, chocolate and milk and blend till smooth.
  3. Put over the fire and keep stirring to form a thick custard.
  4. Once the custard starts thickening, remove from fire and quickly add a little to the cake/biscuit mixture to moisten it. mix thoroughly.
  5. Empty the cake/biscuit mixture into a serving dish and flatten with a damp spatula.
  6. Pour the custard over this mixture and allow to set in the fridge.
  7. Garnish with chopped nuts/chocolate shavings and serve chilled.
