For gulab Jamuns:
1 cup plain flour (maida)
3 cups milk powder
1 pint ( 470 ml) whipping cream

For sugar syrup:
7 cups sugar
4 cups water
a pinch of saffron (kesar) strands
a pinch of cardamom (elaichi) powder

For Ricotta cheese Burfi:
6 oz. (170 grams) ricotta cheese
6 oz. (170 grams) milk powder
1 (4 oz.) (113 grams) butter
3/4 cup sugar

Method for sugar syrup:

    Method for sugar syrup:
  1. Make sugar syrup with the above mentioned sugar and water.
  2. Add saffron and cardamom powder. let it boil for sometime.

Method for gulab jamuns:

    Method for gulab jamuns:
  1. In the mean time, mix maida, dry milk powder and whipping cream to make balls.
  2. You can also add milk if you cannot find whipping cream.
  3. Then fry the balls to dark brown colour in oil.
  4. Add the fried jamuns to the sugar syrup.
  5. Turn off the heat from sugar syrup after adding all the jamuns.
  6. Leave it overnight.
  7. Drain all the jamuns from the syrup.then,

Method for making burfi:

  1. Melt the butter, add ricotta cheese and milk powder.
  2. Stir till all the liquid dissolves.
  3. Then take the pan off from the heat.
  4. Add the sugar and keep on stirring till it becomes thick.
  5. Once it cools, spread a little on top on the cut gulab jamuns.
  6. Then refrigerate.
  7. Take it out just a few minutes before serving.
