A delightful sight and an irrestible crunchy texture makes the green and yellow florets a must try stir fry recipe. The colored florets are tossed together with choicest seasonings, dressings and sauce and then enjoyed with breads of choice.

Green and Yellow Florets recipe - How to make Green and Yellow Florets


Preparation Time:    Cooking Time:    Total Time:     4Makes 4 servings

2 cups broccoli florets
1 cup cauliflower florets
1/2 cup potato salli
1/4 cup water
1 tbsp cumin seeds (jeera)
1/4 tsp asafoetida (hing)
1/2 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
2 tbsp oil
4 green chillies , slit green chillies
1 tsp ginger (adrak) paste
1/2 tsp lemon juice
salt to taste
for decoration:
finely chopped coriander (dhania) leaves
1/4 cup carrot peelings
  1. Heat the oil in a pan and add cumin seeds and stir for a few seconds.
  2. Put a pinch asafetida.
  3. Add garlic paste and green chilies and stir for a few more seconds.
  4. Add cut potatoes and cauliflower florets.
  5. Add turmeric powder and salt and a little water.
  6. Cover with a lid for six to seven minutes and cook on medium to high flame.
  7. Add broccoli florets now and sprinkle a little water if needed.
  8. Let it cook without the lid and keep stirring occasionally for another six to seven minutes.
  9. Take it off the flame and add lemon juice and mix.
  10. Decorate it with peeled carrot rings and finely chopped coriander.
