Cinnamon Sugar is prepared by mixing ground cinnamon and granulated sugar. It is used as a topping or a spice dressing over deserts. It has a spicy and sweet flavour, and is brown in colour.

How to Select
• If making at home, select whole cinnamon with a strong flavour. Choose sugar with very small granules so that it will be easy to grind.
• You may also buy pre-mixed Cinnamon Sugar, in which case you should choose a reliable brand, check the packaging and use-by date.

Culinary Uses
• A variety of sweets and desserts are topped with cinnamon sugar, to give an appealing and characteristic flavour to the recipe.
• You could sprinkle it over an apple pie crust before baking.
• Cinnamon sugar may be dusted over apple slices, to make a simple snack.

How to Store
