Tarla Dalal    Yes. Go ahead and have it. Fiber, potassium and magnesium from yellow moong dal will work together to regulate blood pressure and soothe the nerves and is diabetic friendly.

Didn’t turn out very good. Doesn’t taste as good as rice khichu. Was liquidy and stayed like that in spite of stirring for half an hour.

Tarla Dalal    Hello Shreya, The taste will definitely differ because, we are using yellow moong dal. I hope you have soaked moong dal with the given amount of water (i.e 1/4cup). This step is crucial as the consistency will vary if you add more water.

I had tried the bajra khichu and rice khichu after following your recipes and moong dal khichu tastes equally delicious and easy to make too. Reminds me of home when I am far away studying from home.
