Tarla Dalal    Yes, you are right. That is why we have suggested arrowroot flour. If you are making these pattice for fasting or upvaas, then there is no other substitute.

Tarla Dalal    Yes you can try in an air-fryer. Alternatively you can make round balls and cook in an appe mould or make flat thin vadas and cook on a non-stick tava with minimum oil.
