Dal Poha (Bisi Bele Avalakki) is a South Indian breakfast recipe with poha or rice flakes cooked with roasted dals, tamarind pulp, powdered Indian masalas and then served hot with chopped coriander and coconut shavings as garnish.

  1. Soak poha, boil dal (not too soft)
  2. Mix dal, poha,salt, tamarind extract, powdered masala and a cup of water.
  3. Bring to boil.heat oil.
  4. Season with mustard seeds, curryleaves, turmeric.
  5. Fry onion in the same oil.
  6. Add to the boiled dal and mix well.
  7. Serve with papad.
