Crackle Cookies recipe - How to make Crackle Cookies

2 tbsp plain flour (maida)
3 tsp powdered sugar
1 tsp crushed edible gum (gaund)
1 1/2 tbsp ghee
For decoration:
1 tsp saffron (kesar) strands
1 tsp cardamom (elaichi) powder
1 tbsp finely chopped almonds (badam) and pistachios

  1. Sift maida.
  2. Mix in sugar and gum
  3. Knead into a dough with the ghee.
  4. Roll the dough into a thin roti (about 1mm thick) between two sheets of plastic.
  5. Cut rounds or any other shape using biscuit cutter from the roti.
  6. Now using a splatula or kunti lift each biscuit carefully and put it on the non-stick tawa.
  7. Dissolve the kesar in 1 tsp water.
  8. Decorate the biscuit by putting dots of kesar syrup.take care not to wetten the biscuit.
  9. Sprinkle the elaichi powder and the chopped dry fuits.
  10. Heat the tawa on a low flame for about 3-4 min till the sides of the biscuit appear pinkish
  11. Allow to cool.
  12. Remove from the tawa after two min.
  13. Follow the above steps with the remaining dough.
