Add cholia paste, sugar, ghee and milk to prepare the tasty Cholia halwa. Sprinkle the cardamom powder over the hala and enjoy as desset or a sweet healthy snack.

  1. Heat ghee in a pan and add cholia paste.
  2. Stir over a gentle flame until mixture reduces and ghee separates.
  3. Add sugar, milk and cardamom to the pan.
  4. Simmer till liquid evaporates.
  5. Serve decorated with dried fruit, cream and khoya.
  6. For thandai, roast spices lightly on a tawa. soak all ingredients except milk in enough water to cover.
  7. Set aside for two hours. grind into a paste.
  8. Mix with milk.
  9. Strain liquid through muslin.
  10. Decorate with rose petals and serve chilled.
