A good looking and mouthwatering Cheery cake recipe which can be baked easily and quickly. The maida flour is blended with beaten butter, sour cream, castor sugar, baking powder and crushed cherries. A lovely cake recipe which can be topped with cherry sauce and served in birthday parties.

2 cups plain flour (maida)
180 gms butter
3/4 cup castor sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp almond essence
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup sour cream
1 cup cherries, quatered
3 tsp baking powder

  1. Beat butter,essence and sugar until light.
  2. Beat in eggs one at a time.
  3. Stir in flour with baking powder and almonds.
  4. Add the milk & the sour cream.
  5. Mix well & lastly add the cheeries.
  6. Pour into a greased pan & bake at 180c for 11/4 hrs in a preheated oven keep it for cooling.
  7. Sprinkle with icing sugar.
