2 medium sized raw mangoes cut and sliced roughly,
½ raw mango cut into fine small pieces,
50g.Pigeon pea split (toovar dal),
2 Red chilies whole (roasted),
6 Peppercorns (roasted),
1 tsp Cumin seeds (roasted),
1/4tsp Asafoetida,
Fresh coriander leaves (chopped)a few sprigs,
,1tsp oil,
Salt to taste,
1/2 tsp Mustard seeds,
a few curry leaves (kadi patta)
- Boil the mango in water for about 5 mins till you feel that the mango is thoroughly soaked in water. blend this in the mixture and keep the juice aside
- Boil toovar dal with 6cups of water. strain the water and keep aside the dal and use for some other dish. grind together red chilies, asafoetida, peppercorns and cumin seeds. boil dal water, ground paste, chopped coriander leaves, raw mango pieces, raw mango juice and salt. cook for 5-10 minutes. heat oil in a small pan. add cloves, mustard seeds a
