Yummy mango rice recipe - How to make Yummy mango rice

1 Raw Mango peeled and grated
2 cups rice
salt to taste
1 medium sized carrot grated
For tempering
1 tsp mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)
1 tsp bengal gram
1tsp urad dal
2 tbsp peanuts
1 tbsp cashewnuts
3 to 4 red chillies
3 to 4 green chillies
1/4 tsp peppercorns
2 tbsp oil
2 pinches turmeric
curry leaves (kadi patta)

  1. Wash and cook the rice.
  2. Let the rice to cool.
  3. For the tempering,heat the oil in a pan and add the bengal gram,urad dal,mustard seeds, peanuts,cashewnuts,red chillies, green chillies,peppercorns,curry leaves and turmeric powder.
  4. Add the grated mango to the tempering and switch off the gas.
  5. When the rice is cool add salt and the mango-tempering mixture.
  6. Add the grated carrot.
