Again here is smoething different type of sandwich,yogurt surprise in fact this is also home made version og low calorie mayyonaise in form of yogurt. This is 2 layer sandwich, one layer is of yogurt with lots of vegetables and the second layer is of green chutney.

Preparation Time:    Cooking Time:    Total Time:     Makes 6 sandwiches

12 multi-grain bread slices
6 tbsp low-fat butter

For The 1st Layer
3/4 cup hung curds (dahi)
2 tbsp cheese spread
salt to taste
1/2 cup grated carrot , capsicum and onions
a pinch of mustard seeds ( rai / sarson) powder

For The 2nd Layer
1/2 cup green chutney
1/2 cup grated cucumber
For the 1st layer

  1. Combine the carrots, onions and capsicum along with salt in a bowl, mix well and keep aside for 10 minutes.
  2. Drain the excess water, pressing very tlghtly between your palms and keep aside.
  3. Combine the curds, cheese spread and salt and blend in a mixer to a smooth paste and transfer to bowl.
  4. Add the carrots, onions and capcicum, mix well and keep aside.

For 2nd layer

  1. Sprinkle some salt in cucumber and keep aside for few minutes.
  2. Drain and squeeze out the excess water by pressing very tlghtly between your palms. Keep aside.
  3. Combine the green chutney and cucumber, mix well and keep aside.

How to proceed

  1. Cut and remove the edges of bread slices
  2. On one slice apply curd mixture,put another slice on it.
  3. Apply green chutney filling on it and then cover with the third slice.
  4. Similarly prepare other sandwiches.
  5. Apply 1 tsp butter on top and put the sandwich in pre-heated griller facing butter side downwords.
  6. Apply 1 tsp butter on top and grill 2 sandwiches at a time for 5 minutes
  7. Serve hot.
