A warm porridge on a moonsoon day served with crisp khakras and sprouts makes a healthy breakfast.

Warm Oats Porridge recipe - How to make Warm Oats Porridge

Preparation Time:    Cooking Time:    Total Time:     Makes 4 servings

1 cup quick cooking rolled oats
2 cups milk
1/2 cup dates (khajur) puree
1/4 tsp cardamom (elaichi) powder
1/4 cup chopped bananas
1/4 cup chopped apples
1 tsp ghee

To Garnish
a few saffron (kesar) strands strands
2 tbsp toasted almonds (badam)
  1. Heat the milk in a deep pan and simmer for 5 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, roast the oats in ghee for few minutes and add to the boiling milk and mix well.
  3. Remove from the flame and add the remaining ingredients and mix well.
  4. Serve warm garnished with toasted almonds and saffron.
