2 cups long grained rice (basmati) or any other good quality rice cooked and ensure that each grain is seperate
allowed to cool. See to it that each grain is seperate
- 2 cups
To Grind :
1/4 bunch coriander (dhania)
3 to 4 strands mint leaves (phudina) (optional, this is for the typical aroma for the pulao)

5 to 6 green chillies
1/2 " piece of ginger (adrak)
1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
4 to 5 coriander (dhania) seeds
2 sticks cinnamon (dalchini)
3 to 4 cloves (laung / lavang)
2 to 3 cardamoms (elaichi)
1/2 cup fresh grated coconut
3 tbsp ghee
salt to taste
1 cup mixed vegetables
florets, Green Peas and Onions - 1

  1. Cook the veggies except onions till soft.
  2. Crush a stick of cinnamon, 2-3 cloves.
  3. Heat ghee in a kadai, add the crushed cinnamon and cloves.
  4. Add chopped onions and saute till the onions turn transculent.
  5. Now, boil the cooked veggies with required amount of salt, add the ground masala and the sauted onions and boil the mixture on a medium flame till the raw smell of the masala is gone.
  6. Pour this mixture on the cooled rice and mix properly and heat this on a very low flame just to make the pulao warm.
  7. Tomato raitha goes very well with this pulao.
