Ingredients
Method
  1. Wash and soak the parboiled rice and urad dal together in enough water in a deep bowl for at least 2 hours.
  2. Drain well, add the coconut milk and blend in a mixer to a smooth paste.
  3. Transfer the mixture into a deep bowl, add the carrot, onions, cabbage, cumin seeds, coconut and salt and mix well. Cover with a lid and keep aside to ferment in a warm place for 3 to 4 hours.
  4. Pour spoonfuls of the batter into the greased idli moulds and steam in a steamer for 10 to 12 minutes or till they are done.
  5. Serve hot with corn sambhar.
