Veg snacks on toothpicks is a crispy fried vegetable snack recipe which makes for a perfect starter or cocktail snack item. The vegetables like capsicum and tomatoes and paneer cubes are threaded together on a toothpick, dipped in a batter and deep fried.

Veg Snacks On Toothpicks recipe - How to make Veg Snacks On Toothpicks

Preparation Time:    Cooking Time:    Total Time:     Makes 12 pieces

1 cup (125gm) plain flour (maida)
salt to taste
1 tbsp freshly ground black pepper powder
3/4 cup water
2 capsicum , cut into 1" cubes
2-3 tomato , cut into 1" cubes
200 gms paneer (cottage cheese) , cut into 1" pieces
oil for frying

For Serving
mint chutney
tomato ketchup
  1. Sieve the plain flour salt and pepper together into a bowl.
  2. Gradually add the water, stirring constantly to make a smooth batter.
  3. Thread the vegatables and the paneer on tooth picks in the following order capsicum, paneer and tomato.
  4. Dip the toot pick along with the vegetable in the batter.
  5. Heat the oil in a kadhai and deep fry the tooth picks along with veggies till it turns to golden brown in colour from all the sides.
  6. Repeat the same process for the remaining ingredients.
  7. Serve hot with tomato ketchup or mint chutney.
