Varsha's Beetroot Halwa recipe - How to make Varsha's Beetroot Halwa


Preparation Time:    Cooking Time:    Total Time:     Makes 4 servings

500 gms boiled and grated beetroot
200 gms sugar
250 ml milk
1/2 cup broken cashewnuts (kaju) or
2 tbsp ghee
a pinch cardamom (elaichi) powder
  1. Heat 3 tbsp ghee in a kadhai, add the beetroot, pistachios and saute till they turn golden brown.
  2. Add the sugar and saute for 2 minutes.
  3. Add the cardamon and mawa and saute till the mava is cooked.
  4. Remove from the flame and serve hot garnished with chopped nuts.
