A bowl of triranga or tri colored soup is sure to provide you with satiety and also the goodness of the healthful ingredients added. The white colored cheese sauce is added to the bowl along with tomato and beetroot based red soup and palak based green sauce.

Ingredients


INGREDIENTS FOR THE WHITE SAUCE
1 tbsp plain flour (maida)
1 tbsp butter
1 1/2 cups milk
1 cup water
1 tbsp grated processed cheese

FOR THE RED SOUP
6 to 8 medium sized ripe tomatoes
1/4 beetroot
1 small sized onion
2 to 3 cloves of garlic (lehsun)
1 cup White Sauce
2 cups water
salt and pepper (kalimirch) to taste

FOR THE GREEN SOUP
1 bunch of spinach (palak)
1 large sized onion
2 to 3 cloves of garlic (lehsun)
4 green chillies
1 piece of ginger (adrak)
1 cup White Sauce
2 cups water
salt to taste

FOR GARNISH
1/2 cup fresh cream, lightly beaten

Method For the white sauce

    Method For the white sauce
  1. Take butter in a heavy bottomed pan , heat add flour and stir till flour turns light brown
  2. Add milk & water , stir taking care that no lumps are formed
  3. Add cheese when sauce has thickened , remove from fire

For the red soup

    For the red soup
  1. Boil the tomatoes , beetroot , onion & garlic using the 2 cups of water
  2. Blend in a mixer & strain
  3. Add white sauce ,salt & pepper to taste
  4. Simmer for 3 – 5 minutes. keep aside.

For the green soup

    For the green soup
  1. Boil the palak , onions & garlic using the 2 cups of water
  2. Add the chillies & ginger , blend in a mixer and strain
  3. Add white sauce & salt to taste
  4. Simmer for 3 – 5 minutes. keep aside.

To serve

    To serve
  1. Place a spoon in the soup bowl, fill ladles of soup green & red in both the hands and pour simultaneously in the soup bowl, slowly remove the spoon taking care that the soups do not get mixed up
  2. With the help of a teaspoon slowly add fresh cream in such a way that three different colours can be seen
