A unique recipe of cooking rice in different ways with a patriotic feeling to it.
- Take your stock of cooked rice and divide in equal portions of 2 cups each.
Part 1 :-- Heat oil in a frying pan.
- On turning medium heat (but not smoking) put 1 clove, cardamom stick and red chilly to fry.
- Toss the spinach paste to it and add ginger paste, sugar & salt to taste and sauté for a min or two.
- Put 2 cups of rice and mix well in pan.
- Fry lightly for 1min remove heat and keep aside.
Part 2 :-- Again heat oil in pan.
- On turning medium put 1 clove, cardamom stick, cumin seeds and black pepper to fry.
- Toss the next 2 cups of rice and sauté.
- Add raisins, sugar & salt to taste and fry in low heat for a min. keep aside.
Part 3 :-- Again heat oil in pan.
- Put clove, cardamom, cumin seeds and black-pepper to fry.
- Add carrot paste, sugar & salt to taste and final 2 cups of rice.
- Mix well in pan light fry for 1 min. keep aside.
- Now with the help of a round bowl the three portions of prepared rice recipies are given a shape.
- The three portions are then placed serially on top of each other green(spinach), white(plain rice) and orange(carrot) in order of our national flag.
- Garnish with crisp pices of fried potatoes (straight or wedged shaped) and a few green chillies.
- Serve for two.
