A tangy ,spicy tomato pickle recipe, Tamatar achaar (telugu) is a great accompaniment to rice or breads. Tomato and ginger combination in the achaar is excellent for digestion and for improving appetite. Tamatar achaar is a tasty and healthful choice.

Method

  1. Heat oil, add asfo etida, cumin seeds,when brown add ginger pste.
  2. Roast.then add garlic p aste. rost again.
  3. Add fenugreek seeds.
  4. Add the diced tomatoes and cook for some time till the water evaporates.
  5. Now add green chillies (cut into big pieces) and cook for another 5 mins.
  6. Add salt and vinegar. stir well and take off fire.
  7. When cool add rai pdr , mix well and store in a air tight container.
  8. The pickle is ready to eat after a week.
